“Tonton” is the proud daddy of the “S” litter (remember, the one with “Superavit”?).

Just a few days before “Yoda” was ready for mating, a british family came to visit and meet the dogs, as they where decided to take one of my Bullmastiffs in the future. At one point I let them with the dogs, while I went into the kitchen to prepare coffee and cold drinks and as I came out with the tray, John mentioned that he had seen “Tonton” wooeing one of the female donkeys, the smallest of the two. He looked quite astonished (and so did I when I heard the story) and he mentioned the full details in a quiet voice, as if he were ashamed and a bit shocked with just the sight. No wonder!

I honestly didn’t take him seriously and felt that he might have let his imagination fly too high and that was the end of the story.

I never ever came to think about this again, until one day, in late summer, I was outside with the eleven puppies who were about a month nd half already when  I heard a strong and repeated panting just around the corner. Wow, what a scandal! So I decided to take a look and surrounded the porche while the puppies were sniffing a bunch of flowers... the sight was really shocking. I went totally nuts... so much so, that I immediately rushed upstairs, to the shelves where I keep my digital camera and loaded it!

Believe it or not, “Tonton” was trying by all possible means to mate the jenny, and she certainly didn’t complain! In fact she was very cooperative and patiently layed down, her tail well on its side!

If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I would have never believed it... but there they were the two, practicing with a sort of animal’s Kamasutra... and they really seemed to be quite happy with the game.

Needless to say that I immediately called my Vets... I had finally figured out why “Tonton” hadn’t highly concentrated in “Yoda” when she had been in season a few months earlier. No wonder! He had had his hands (?) full with the jenny by then! Gush, I could almost picture myself helping the jenny whelp a litter of “donkmastiffs” (in spanish "BurrMastiffs")and selling the tickets for the Circus!

No wonder “Tonton’s” semen had been of rough quality... or so we thought! He had been playing around not just with “Yoda” but also with “Pizpireta”...
